Our Approach to Youth & Young Adults Therapy
Our sessions are uniquely designed to meet your specific needs as an individual by utilizing evidence-based techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) that works on unhelpful thoughts, emotions and behaviours to help reduce distress, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) that balances acceptance and change with practical skills, Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapeutic model that sees your parts of self within a normal and protective internal system that can be tuned for health, and Psychosomatic Approaches that focuses on raising body awareness to help reduce the stress, trauma or emotions felt in the body to help you be more present and build resilience.
Whether you’re navigating life transitions, managing anxiety, or seeking support for any mental health concern, our specialized Family Therapists create a safe and confidential space for self-exploration.
How It Works
Starting therapy can feel scary. We make it simple from the very beginning:
1. Connect for Consultation
2. Schedule a Session
3. Get Ready for First Session
Positive Outcomes of Evidence-Based, Integrative Counselling designed for you
According to the American Psychological Association, achieving clinically significant improvements in mental health can take approximately 12–16 sessions. However, we will begin collaborating and setting goals within the first two sessions and will be intentional to work toward those goals in every session thereafter.
Research shows that the emotional connection between you and your therapist from factors like empathy, shared goals, and therapist’s authenticity, play a significantly large role in therapeutic outcome. From the very first session, you should get a sense of whether our family therapists can provide the support and guidance you need.
Change is something we always strive for, and while the path forward can feel uncertain, progress is possible whenever there’s a willingness to engage. We believe that, with the right approach, therapy can be a supportive space to help you and your family members grow, find clarity, and move toward the positive changes you hope for.
Each session lasts 50 minutes and can take place either in person or virtually.
