Our Approach to Family Therapy
We examine family dynamics to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships by utilizing evidence-based techniques, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) that uses emotions as guides to healthy attachments and patterns and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) that focuses on the strengths, exceptions, and small changes to achieve short-term goals to help you to enhance your overall wellbeing.
Our specialized Family Therapists guide you in navigating conflicts, rebuilding trust, and creating healthier patterns of interaction.
How It Works
Starting therapy can feel scary. We make it simple from the very beginning:
1. Connect for Consultation
2. Schedule a Session
3. Get Ready for First Session
Positive Outcomes of Evidence-Based, Integrative Counselling designed for you
According to the American Psychological Association, achieving clinically significant improvements in mental health can take approximately 12–16 sessions. However, we will begin collaborating and setting goals within the first two sessions and will be intentional to work toward those goals in every session thereafter.
Having your family member join the sessions can be very helpful, as it allows us to notice and understand your interaction patterns together. That said, beginning with just the parent(s) can still be deeply validating and supportive, offering a safe space to feel heard, understood, and encouraged to keep trying. A free 20-minute consultation may also be a reassuring first step for your family member with a chance to experience our non-biased, supportive approach and to see that everything we do is guided by care for both of you and the health of your relationship.
Change is something we always strive for, and while the path forward can feel uncertain, progress is possible whenever there’s a willingness to engage. We believe that therapy done right can be a supportive space to help you and your family members grow, find clarity, and move toward the positive changes you hope for.
Each session lasts 50 minutes and can take place either in person or virtually from the same space.
